Traditional approaches to leadership don't cut it in a rapidly changing world where people must learn to lead without authority. Transactional leadership gets the job done, but transformational leadership takes it to another level and results in changed lives. Leading staff and volunteers may seem very different but leading both actually requires identical skill sets. Often people who are good at development have hidden skills that help them lead more effectively.

Jim Galvin is an organizational consultant specializing in strategy, change, and leadership development. He has completed successful projects for the Christian Management Association, Leadership Network, Wycliffe Bible Translators, Willow Creek Association, Prison Fellowship, Tyndale House Publishers, Bethany Christian Services, Promise Keepers, World Relief, DeVos Foundation, and Concordia Seminary.

As an author, Jim has been published by Zondervan, Tyndale House, Thomas Nelson, Baker, Navpress, Moody, Intervarsity Press, Focus on the Family, and Concordia. He is perhaps most well-known as the co-creator and senior editor of the best-selling Life Application Study Bible.
Jim holds the Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Supervision from Northern Illinois University as well as Bachelor and Masters degrees from Wheaton College in Christian Ministry. He is an active member at Our Savior Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Carol Stream, Illinois, together with his wife Kathleen and two children: Jimmy and Lindsay.
