Les Stahlke
The Relationship Model
Les Stahlke is the Founder, President and CEO, and the author of the Relationship Model. Les has over 35 years of experience in leadership of not-for-profit organizations in Canada, including membership on numerous volunteer boards. Based on years of experience and research, he developed the Relationship Model while serving as Chief Executive Officer of Mission Aviation Fellowship - Europe. During those four years he traveled extensively in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.
Rhonda Newman
Capital Campaigns - The Basic Ingredients
Rhonda Newman has over 16 years experience in the charitable sector. She has a demonstrated track record at a senior management level managing development programs with all aspects of fundraising. Rhonda's hands-on experience with staff, volunteers and diverse operational issues equips her with implementation and planning expertise. Rhonda started her fund development career with the Alberta Lung Association. In the course of her tenure, she achieved the position of Vice-President, Funds Development and Communications Centre. After 10 years in the industry, Rhonda formed Newman Consulting. Since that time, she has worked with many clients on special event projects, grant writing, direct mail campaigns, sponsorship programs, capital campaigns, development audits, strategic plans and feasibility studies.
Paul Nahirney
Capital Campaigns - The Basic Ingredients
Paul Nahirney has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 40 years, with the past 25 years being devoted to fund development. His career has included both front line and senior management positions ranging from coordinating volunteer programs, developing community living and working opportunities for the developmentally disabled who were previously institutionalized and serving as a senior manager with Alberta Social Services. During the past 17 years Paul has devoted most of his time to major capital campaigns but has also worked in all facets of fund development over his career. Clients have included organizations that work with those who are disabled, public libraries and various social service organizations including women's shelters and those who work in the inner city. In the past decade Paul has expanded his consulting business to work with churches to assist with developing strategic plans and with major capital projects.
Kristi J. Puchbauer, CFRE
Successfully Integrating Prospect Research into Major Gift Relationships
Kristi Puchbauer's diverse fundraising background spans over 15 years. In 2004, she founded Omega Development Solutions, a fund development consulting firm. Before moving to consulting, Kristi served as Assistant Director of Major Gifts for Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM). Prior to joining LHM, Kristi held fund development positions with Covenant House Vancouver, Elks & Royal Purple Fund for Children and Canadian Mental Health Association. She has a wide array of experience, including strategic planning, prospect research, moves management, grant writing, direct mail, planned giving, major gifts and capital campaigns. Kristi's collaborative approach to philanthropy has resulted in a winning track record in support of a wide range of charitable causes, including education, youth, religion, social services, health care and arts and culture. Her strength as a fund development professional stems from her commitment to learning, training and mentorship.
Emmy Stuebing, CFRE
Me Myself and I - Strategies and Sharing about Working in a One-Person Office
Emmy Stuebing has built her entire professional career working in the nonprofit sector. Working for large institutions such as the University of Alberta and the Alberta Cancer Foundation as well as smaller organizations such as the Valley Zoo Development Society and the Fort Edmonton Foundation, Emmy has experience and expertise relating to fund development, communications and nonprofit management. Presently, Emmy works as the Executive Director of the Alberta Emerald Foundation, working to celebrate and inspire environmental excellence in Alberta. Additionally, she volunteers as a citizen-at-large member of the City of Edmonton Animal Control Advisory Board as well as a director on the board of AFP Edmonton and Area.
Scott Decksheimer, CFRE

Scott Decksheimer has worked in the nonprofit field for more than 14 years and founded Nine Lions Fund Development Consulting, a firm specializing in Campaign development and support; fund development program assessment and audit; major gift process reviews and mentoring programs in fund development. Before moving to consulting, Scott was the Director of Fund Development at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary for four years. At SAIT, he worked with his team of 20 to complete an $80,000,000 campaign, which at the time was the largest fundraising campaign in southern Alberta history and the second largest in Alberta's history. That campaign surpassed its goal in the 44th month of a 60-month campaign. Prior to joining SAIT, Scott was the Executive Director of The Kidney Foundation of Canada (Saskatchewan Branch) and Manager of Fund Development and Media Relations at the Canadian Diabetes Association, Saskatchewan Division.
