This session will help you learn to apply strategic visioning and planning techniques to your organization.

Among the things you will learn are how to establish a fresh vision and mission for your organization, who should participate in the visioning/strategic planning process, how to help people learn to think strategically rather than tactically, how to mine the "hidden" leadership gifts within your community and how to develop a written strategic plan blueprint that will guide your organization's future for the next three to five years.

Beth Lewis is the President and CEO of Augsburg Fortress, the ministry of publishing for the ELCA. Beth spent 22 years working in three Fortune 500 publishing companies. In 1998, she became an entrepreneur and acquired a computer training school.

In August 2002, Beth was called to her current role. She has led the Augsburg Fortress staff in a turnaround effort that has included such successes as the publication of The Lutheran Handbook, Here We Stand confirmation, AKALOO inter generational, Web-based faith formation resources, Evangelical Lutheran Worship and many other print and electronic ministry resources for use by Lutherans and other Christians.
