ALDE qualifies as a Thrivent GivingPlus ® recipient. That means that your gift, if you are a Thrivent member, is eligible for a 50% match by Thrivent. Simply complete & include the GivingPlus ® Member Gift Form with your gift. The following is valuable information regarding this program, which you may even find useful for your own organization:

You are automatically a Thrivent member if you own an insurance policy from, or have an investment through Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
The 50% match applies to all gift(s) totaling up to $600 per calendar year (there is no longer a lower limit gift amount). This is for Thrivent Members and Thrivent Associate Members.
Any family member 16 years or older residing with you can fill out the Family Membership Application. Gifts can then be made to ALDE in their name and would be eligible for the same matching limits described above, therefore increasing the match available from your household. (Example, instead of one gift to ALDE of $1,800 being matched on only the first $600, three family members each giving $600 to ALDE instead, would have all $1,800 eligible for matching.)
Stock or mutual fund share transfers are also eligible.

Special bonus for volunteers, of which we have many! When a member contributes 25 or more hours of volunteer service that they submit with an eligible GivingPlus ® gift, Thrivent will contribute an additional $25. Just indicate your volunteer service by filling in the appropriate bubble on the GivingPlus ® Member Gift Form. Volunteer service includes unpaid time working on projects/activities or serving on a governing/task group.

2006 GivingPlus budget increase

Thrivent is increasing the 2006 budget for GivingPlus by 20 percent, bringing the total funding available up to $28.8 million. The use of this program has significantly increased this year, likely because of the success many organizations had in last year’s challenge to engage more Thrivent Financial members.
With this increase, Thrivent has an opportunity to meet greater member demand and have a more significant impact in the Lutheran community. Still, it is likely that the new program limit will be reached before year-end. Please submit GivingPlus Member Gift Forms promptly so that we may add to the contributions Thrivent Financial members make to your organization. Gift forms received after the budget has been reached will be denied, as will any requests postmarked after the January 12, 2007, deadline.

Eligibility rules revised

Another change affecting GivingPlus and other Thrivent Financial giving programs involves participant eligibility rules. Beginning January 1, 2007, only Thrivent Financial benefit members and individuals who own Thrivent Mutual Fund accounts or Thrivent Life Insurance Company products will be eligible to participate in GivingPlus and other giving programs. Benefit members are generally Thrivent members who own an insurance or annuity product from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Associate members who pay a $10 annual fee to belong to our organizations or have that fee waived will no longer be eligible for these programs. Individuals who own an insurance or annuity product issued by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans continue to be eligible to participate. And, individuals who own Thrivent mutual fund accounts or financial products from Thrivent Life Insurance Company continue to be eligible through the gift matching programs offered by these subsidiaries. To keep this simple for our members and for you, the forms and procedures, regardless of which product is owned, are the same.
