MORE INFORMATION

With the ALDE Shopping Mall, now you shop online and support ALDE at the same time. Whenever you purchase an item from one of the hundreds of popular retailers listed, ALDE and its member organizations receive a percentage of the sales. ALDE receives 60% of the collected rebate/sales commission submitted by participating merchants. Your organization then receives 50% of what ALDE receives.

How does the ALDE Shopping Mall work?
It’s simple, and it works like any other online shopping vehicle except that now ALDE and its member organizations benefit from the experience. ALDE has partnered with Fundlink, LLC, in conjunction with more than 1,300 major retailers, to create an online shopping mall Web site. Consumers enter the ALDE Shopping Mall and choose to shop from stores such as Target®, Macy’s®, and Best Buy®. Before they enter a retail site, they are asked to choose an ALDE member organization that will benefit from their shopping experience. Once the designation is made, consumers are sent directly to the retailer of their choice to start shopping. A portion of each sale is contributed by the merchant to ALDE as well as the designated member organization. Consumers are not sent to a reseller nor are the prices any different. The only difference is the starting point of the shopping experience. Shoppers begin at the ALDE Shopping Mall in order to designate an ALDE member organization to benefit from their shopping. They then enter the retailer’s regular Web site.

How is the ALDE Shopping Mall set up and how do you shop?
The mall map is in the center of the page. The sidebars on the left and right of the screen list featured category merchants. Below the mall map is the Shop by Category feature where every merchant in the ALDE Shopping Mall is described and can be browsed. Also, you can Search for a category or merchant, which is located at the top of the page just above the mall map.

• First, choose a store, either by clicking on it in the mall map, using the search function, or selecting it from a category.
• Next, select a beneficiary from the menu that appears after selecting your store.
• Then, shop!

What other information should you know?
• When you are finished, remember to bookmark the mall for future use, if you did not do so already. On the top of the left sidebar is a place to do this.
• Next time you enter the ALDE Shopping Mall, a list of your previous beneficiaries will appear. Recent merchants visited are also displayed on the top of the right sidebar.

How does your organization receive its percentage of the proceeds?

ALDE will then divide the money among the member organizations and distribute it accordingly. Your organization will only receive a check if it has accrued at least $25 in donations. The contribution amount is determined by the individual retailer and varies from merchant to merchant. Click here to download retailer and percentage information (Excel file). A portion of the royalty received may be considered unrelated business income and be subject to taxes (UBIT). Be sure to discuss with legal/tax counsel.
