What led you to being a development professional?
I’ve been successful at securing gifts since asking my mother for money as a child! Even in college, I secured gifts from peers for internship projects and other activities. Development work has always come naturally, and I have never allowed a perceived lack of financial resources stand in the way of raising the needed money to move a worthy cause forward.

Working for an institution that is in an enormous capital development period and wishing that we could move faster – working with donors as they move through the steps leading to giving…in less time.

Describe an ALDE experience that has been particularly noteworthy, fun, uplifting, educational, etc.
It is difficult to pick just one ALDE conference experience that was particularly noteworthy. Conferences are filled with uplifting worship experiences, great people, and terrific educational sessions. If I had to pick one, the 2005 conference in Denver stands out. Keynote speaker Gary Moore spoke on integrating faith and finances. He was dynamic and his message was truly thought provoking. |

Accepting the President’s Award from Brenda Peterson-Moore for volunteer service to ALDE. Imagine being awarded for doing something you love! A humbling and exhilarating moment. |

My first ALDE conference when I was with Lutheran Social Services of Illinois. I still have the materials from it and met some new friends. Just having prayers and devotionals at meetings and conferences and being able to witness is nourishing to my soul and I will always encourage others to join! |
