CFRE Study Days Offer Great Education, Great Value

Planning for the 2010 ALDE CFRE Study Days is already well underway.  Mark your calendar now for August 12 and 19, 2010 (the study days are a two-day class, so you will need to attend both days, not just one or the other).  View the scheduleThe days are intended for those who are well into the CFRE certification process or who are very interested in pursuing their CFRE certification and want to learn where they need more preparation.  In addition, these study days are an excellent course for someone who is new to development, as an in-depth overview of the profession is offered.  Please note for your own planning purposes, your CFRE exam application must be postmarked by August 30, 2010 in order to take the exam between October 29-November 30, 2010.  You can still participate in the CFRE Study Days if you intend to take the exam in 2011.

CFRE CE 2010The cost for the Study Days is $400 per site - this is quite a deal, considering how other study courses charge around $400, or more, per person. Forming a chapter or local study group is recommended for lowering site host costs as site hosts will receive $65 for each additional attendee. However, even if there is only one individual at the site, it is still cheaper than some offerings from other organizations, and may be less costly than a hotel room and transportation. Also, if hosting a group site, be sure to invite non-ALDE members. Not only will doing so increase affordability, it will show development professionals all that ALDE has to offer and potentially attract new members. The cost for an individual to attend an established group site is just $75!  No other organization comes close to providing such a great educational value, and ALDE is a 2010 Approved Provider for CFRE Continuing Education.  We charge less, but offer just as much, if not more.

The 7 hours of webinar presentation will be divided into five sessions, based on the CFRE domains:
  • Current & Prospective Donor Research - Heather McGinness, CFRE
  • Securing the Gift & Relationship Building - Jeri Pat Gabbert, CFRE
  • Management & Accountability - Mark Hofman, CFRE
  • Volunteerism - Lori Werbeckes, CFRE
  • Marketing/Communications - Linda Maxon, CFRE

Participants are encouraged to gather at local sites.  On both days, time will be set aside for moderated and un-moderated discussion.  Those at group sites will have their moderated discussions led by local CFREs.  Individuals will be able to dial into moderated discussion calls.  As each Study Day is planned to be around six to seven hours, these discussions will help break up the sessions and allow for digestion of the material.  Lunch discussion breaks are likewise built into the schedule.

The Study Days can counted for 8.0 CFRE CE points, so there is an added bonus to attending!  Download the CE tracker form here.

If you are interested in hosting a group site,
please complete this form. Site hosts will be reimbursed $65 for every individual who attends at that site. Details for attending at a specific site will be released as sites become available.
